Tire Plug Zone Guide
Not every puncture can be safely plugged. Here's how to know if your tire qualifies — and why we follow these guidelines strictly for your safety.
The Tire Repair Zone is the center tread area between the shoulders. Punctures must fall within this zone to be safely plugged.
We Can Plug
- Puncture is in the center tread area
- Hole is ¼ inch (6mm) or smaller in diameter
- Nail, screw, or small object in the tread
- Tire still holds air or lost pressure slowly
- No visible sidewall damage
We Cannot Plug
- Puncture is on the sidewall or shoulder
- Hole is larger than ¼ inch in diameter
- Tire has run flat (driven on while deflated)
- Multiple punctures close together
- Visible bulge, crack, or structural damage
Liability Notice: For safety reasons, Pop's Roadside Now LLC will only perform plug repairs on punctures located within the approved center tread zone. Repairs outside this area are not safe and will not be performed. This policy exists to protect you and other drivers on the road.
